'Children’s extended social media use linked to increased depression and anxiety'
by Ryan O'Hare
Interesting article from Imperial college citing research on the link between social media use and mental health issues for young people. For those of us working in children's mental health there are increasing numbers of young people whose use of social media is a factor in their mental health challenges. Sometimes it can be online/ cyber bullying; sometimes it is overuse of a platform that is 'feeding' a particular view or politics; sometimes it is just staying up too late on the screen or even avoiding leaving the house (or bedroom!) and living a 'virtual life'.
